about

“The Dance of the Messors,” the second single from Amir Bresler’s first solo LP, House of Arches, is unbelievably a one-man show — an explosive groove of drums, synthesizer and bass, all played by Bresler himself. The song is harnessed lightning, but it was inspired by the earth: Bresler was recording in an auditorium after the first rain of the season in November 2020 when swarms of ants marched in, one organism made of thousands upon thousands of bodies. The phenomena inspired Bresler to split himself into three, and build “Dance of the Messors,” named after a genus of ant, by himself. The song’s propulsive, catchy bassline is its anchor, allowing Bresler to get truly experimental on drums — by the track’s end, he’s a whirlwind on the kit, and you’re left catching your breath.

Today, Amir's the most in-demand drummer in the Middle East—no one makes your body move quite like him. ... more
